User Reviews of St Lukes Cataract and Laser Institute

Patient's perspective

I only have one set of eyes and they are very impoortant to me. From the moment I arrived at St Lukes I got a "factory", "cattle" feeling. Everyone seemed to be paid on "piece part" basis. I definitely felt I was just a nmber. No one had time to spend with me and answer my questions. The final straw came when I called to change my first cataract surgery appointment. "Nancy" told me they would have to change my second appointment (for the other eye). When I asked why, she told me it was too complicated for me to understand. And...the conversation degraded from there. It was the second time my integrity was questioned and I was demeaned by St Lukes' staff. The first came when an assistant "Paul" inferred I wan't going to go with the $5,000 lenses (not covered by insurance) because they were a financial burden for me. Yet, he agreed there was no guarantee they would eliminate the need for glasses. I will find another doctor to do my surgery.
