What a disaster from beginning to end. As long time fans (PRE-Fertitta takeover) of La Griglia & Grotto, we had high hopes for this restaurant. We were there to celebrate my father in law's birthday...

I have been here a couple of times, and each time the food has not let me down! It's great to find a non-chain Italian restaurant with great food and great service. It's a tad pricier than some chain...

I dined at Amici last week (3/18/08) with a group of business colleagues. The ambience - al fresco dining, interior design (colors, art work, lighting), music - is great. Unfortunately, I can't say the same for our dining experience. Let's begin with the fact that our group (10) was seated with a waiter with 2 weeks of experience at Amici. His lack of familiarity with menu items, specialty drinks, etc. was surprising. Even after speaking with the manager, I certainly thought we'd get some additional assistance with a more experienced server. Nope. Nothing. We made repeated requests for menus, to place beverage orders, pepper, next round of cocktails and soft drinks. The menu is very adventuresome - if a bit on the "California" side of Italian food.
