My fiance and I went to Carlsbad Tavern in person and spoke to the owner 6 months before our wedding and she said she booked us for our rehearsal dinner...2 months before the wedding we call to follow up- "Oh sorry, we hadn't heard from you, so booked someone else. Oops, sorry." Really, what kind of establishment does that?! Wouldn't you call someone first- before booking someone else? Even if it was just a mistake on their part, they were not very apologetic and didn't seem to care about helping us out in any way. Now here we are looking for a new place... After nearly a decade of thinking I'd try Carlsbad Tavern some day, I finally did. All four of us who had lunch there today tend to be fairly particular with the quality of our food. By the end of our meals, we all commented about how much we loved it and agreed to return. The food is really good. New Mexico theme. The drinks are good and the wait staff is very attentive. The patio is heated in the winter and very pleasant year round.
