User Reviews of Dhanu Kapoor

She is very knowledgable

I really like Dr. Kapoor. She really knows what she is talking about. She help diagnose a problem I have had for years as a genetic problem, and may have saved the lives of a number of my brothers and sisters in doing so. Not to mention mine. I have read the couple of posts on this list and I have to say that anytime you have a new doctor, you have to get to know them. And they you. I feel that her goal is to provide her patients with the information they need to make smart decisions. If you don't listen you can't learn. So try closing your mouth and opening your ears folks.

Avoid this doctor at all costs

She isn't friendly at all, won't listen to you and keep cutting off your statements. I committed the mistake of telling her that I purchased vitamins from internet. She gave me a good lecture on why Sam's club or costco are better options. Later when I asked her if my homocysteine level would also be checked, she asked me where I learnt all that from. I reminded her of my vitamin purchases and wanted to go further and explain that I also read it in the brochure in her lounge, she didn't even let me complete and restarted the whole "Don't purchase anything from Internet" saga. She was just wasting everyone's time over things that didn't matter. While discussing family history, I asked if there was a way to specify information about grand father. She said "Looks like you don't read the forms". What a nice way to answer anyone? Later when she started digging into the forms, she found that there was indeed no such column. She isn't familiar with her own forms. Finally, she gave us a paper which mentioned the list of tests and the labs where we can go. Had we not asked, she wouldn't even have pointed to the number to call to take lab appointment (which was written in fine print at the very bottom of the form). My impression, from this incident, is that she is only interested in money and wanted to get out as fast as possible without listening or paying enough attention to the patients.
