User Reviews of The Gateway

Shoddy Construction, Tempoarray Feel!

The place looks like something out of a movie or Disney set, construction using shoddy materials. The place won't hold it's character for more than 20-30 years before it starts falling apart. Plus, I disagree with holding public parades, like the annual salt lake St Patrick's day parade inside a mall.

Love it!

How can you not love the Gateway? It is the best shopping place in SLC! I love going there and hitting all the stores, seeing a movie, and then getting some food. I am so excited for the holidays to come and...

Mean parking policies

Don't park at the Gateway to go to events held at the Energy Solutions Area. We parked and ate at The Gateway before going to the Harlem Globetrotters on Feb. 11th and got parking validations to lessen the...

Don't forget the appetizers! by Leah G. at InsiderPages

My girlfriends and I go to get there appetizers. The Fish tacos with ginger sauce is to die for! And the quesadilla are fabulous! We usually get 3 or 4 and split it up.

Bad parking policies

We've enjoyed shopping and dining at the Gateway, but it is certainly not a "unique" experience. The only unique part of the mall is the Discovery Gateway, which is a good children's museum, and the...

Gateway compares well !!

Having lived in major cities worldwide, Salt Lake City has many positives on its side. One major positive is The Gateway District and it's ever expanding development. To the Boyer Company. First, thankyou for...

The Only Place to do real shopping in Utah

I have shopped in the finest stores in New York, Los Angeles, and London. It was always hard to come back to Utah and be subjected to cheap shops like the ones in the downtown malls. (Excluding Nordstrom and...

Worth waiting for by Joanna T. at InsiderPages

Mmmm. This place has great cornbread. Mmmm. This place has great Stuffed Poblano Peppers. Mmmm. Are you getting the idea? The wait is long to get in if you go late, but go for lunch and you can usually get in...

Good atmosphere, bad construction

The quality of stores at The Gateway is superb, with quite a bit of variety. The outdoor atmosphere is excellent all-year round (those naysayers frightened of cold or hot weather should move from Utah),...

Fun sometimes

I enjoy visiting the Gateway. There are a lot of good stores, like Abercrombie, as well as the movie theater and restaurants like California Pizza Kitchen. The outdoor idea is fun except for in the winter. It...

Utah's 1st Full Fledged Ghetto To Be

The Gateway is great, especially for those who are in town from out of state or have moved into Utah. You are finally able to find clothing stores that exist out of state and no longer to you have to buy these...

Outdoor Shopping in Utah??

Outside shopping is either too hot or too cold. I prefer the downtown malls. More stores, less walking and perfectly air conditioned or heated builidings.

Sometimes newer is better

I like this "MALL" because it is outdoors and not in some dark sunless cave like the other "Malls" here in Salt Lake City. I get to shop, get fresh air, and excercise too.

Lots to See!

Gateway's great--if it's not to hot or cold! I recommend going there in the evening. The water show is fun, especially if you have kids. But it is a shopping area, so it's a lot more fun if you have money!
