Things Change

I to have been to Joia numerous times in the past year, in the beginning it was rough don't get me wrong but it seems they have finally gotten it down. With a new chef and an upgraded staff the service finally matches the upscale environment. The drinks are fabulous and the entrees are too, large portions that would satisfy any big eater. What I love most is the ambience. It's the perfect 'date night' restaurant when you need a night away from the kids. And the best part is they take reservations so no long waits as long as you call ahead.

This restaurant is terrible

Terrible service, terrible management. I dont recommend eating at this place at all. I have some first hand insight into some of the things that go on there....I would never eat there or choose to support them with my money.

Don't bother

The service is among the worst....read on. I have been to JOIA a handful of times, several when they first opened. I then decided to give them a rest as the service seemed to have the new restuarant kinks still in it. Last Friday I decided to try again, what a mistake. We waited....we waited at the hostess booth. We were then taken to a rickety table, and I mean rickety, you couldn't eat at it. We asked to be moved and were offered the dirty table next to us....then we waited again. We finally got settled at a booth and waited again. I had ordered take out for my husband and the waiter put the wrong order in ...cheese pizza versus ham pizza. We waited and waited and finally 25 min after our meal the waiter appeared for us to tell him of the error. He took the pizza and we waited. 20 min later he brought back a dismembered pizza with cold ham thrown on top...it looked and smelled horrible. I asked to see the manager, we waited 15 min. Finally he came and described my issue to him. His response? "Do you feel better now?" Are you kidding me?? I asked to have the pizza taken off of the bill. Today, I look online at my bank account and see that I have been charged 3 times for the meal. Make the trip into Brandon to go to Carraba's. Sad when a chain restuarant will treat you better than a hometown shop. It's not that they try really hard and just don't have it together...their heart isn't even in the right place.
