Surfboard Rental

I rented a surfboard from the company. My son and I were very careful with the board. Upon return, the employee looked at the bottom of the board and said that we put a crease across the board near the front. He acted like this never happened before. He looked at the returned board in the bright sun, but prior to rental, looked at the board in the dark office and rather rapidly, at that. The dent looked like the dent you would develop if the board were sitting on a set of racks (like those in the office). So, the employee extracted an extra 30 dollars from me for damage to the board. If you rent from them, look at the bottom of the boards in the bright light for any deviation from perfectly flat. But, if they don't catch you on this, they'll probably catch you on another "ding".
