Best Choice I Could Ever Make

I have been taking my son here for quite some time and have never had a problem, the staff is always friendly and very helpful. My son loves the place and they are so great with giving shots that he doesn't even cry most of the time. I would reccomend this office to anyone who wants their child to enjoy a doctors visit.

Good office

I have had good experiences at this office. My daughter sees Dr. Romero although she has been seen by others on an emergency basis. She is usually healthy so we only need to see or speak to the doctor once or twice a year. The front desk staff even updated her shots records for me while I waited just yesterday. I was pleasantly surprised and grateful.

HORRIBLE staff!!!

I took my kids to Desert Canyon in the past. Although the nurses were sometimes acceptible, the front office staff was HORRIBLE! There were several occasions when I would call later in the afternoon (close to 5:00). I would be put on-hold for such an extended length of time that I would hang-up and call back. Being that it was after 5:00, no-one would answer! Lazy staff! Also, when my daughter was an infant, Dr. Dorame called her "him" several times and referred to her by our last name!!! Wouldn't you think that a doctor would know the sex of his patient?!? I would never recomment this practice to anyone who cares about their children! Stay far away!

AWESOME DOCTOR!!!

My children see Dr. Noel for all their visits. He is such a wonderful pediatrician, he always follows up to check on them after an illness. We wouldnt ever think of changing pediatricians.Dr. Noel is a very skilled dr. who spends a lot of time with my family and children to make sure all of our questions are answered.

Good Job

I think the doctors at Desert Cayon Pediatrics do a good job. I have 2 children I take there and am happy with. We always get seen quickly as call-ins when an illness comes up. They listen to what my children have to say when they hurt or are sick. I have never had a problem with the staff.

SERIOUS CONCERNS ABOUT ANSWERING SERVICE

Dr. Romero is a WONDERFUL pediatrician. Both my wife and I have been 100% impressed with her clinical skills, her bedside manner, her ability to calm us down when we have been concerned about our son's health, and the praise for her as a practitioner go on and on. However, the great service of her office only applies if you need help during the time when their office is open. Their answering service is wretched and they are extremely rude. In the dozen or so times I've called, I've specifically asked to speak with the doctor on-call maybe 4-5 times. I was told that the doctor doesn't answer calls during off hours. I brought this up with Dr. Romero during a visit and she expressed it was an ongoing problem and that all patients have the right to request to speak to the doctor on call. She apologized profusely and said she would talk to them. However, the next time I called, I asked to speak to the doctor and was spoken to in an extremely rude manner by the person answering calls (Melody). We have considered changing pediatricians because of the horrible answering service, but haven't done so (yet), because Dr. Romero is such a fantastic practitioner. Be forewarned, however. No parent should have to contend with a rude answering service when they are concerned about their child's health.

TERRIBLE!!!

My child was seen in the ER over the weekend and Dr. Noel NEVER called me back with the test results (after 6 calls into the office!!!!) - resulting in my child being on a medication that may not be needed or in need of another medication. The support staff is AWEFUL! - forget about a genuine smile and "hello" from anyone. I have never felt more like a stranger than in this office.

I too have tried other pediatrician offices due to moving a distance away from Desert Canyon Pediatrics and none of them met my expectations in comparison with DCP. My daughter used to cry as soon as ...
