Tom's Tropicals is not a good place to go for pets and especially not to take kids. While I cannot say its extremely dirty, I also cannot say it's particularly clean. What's really interesting is that all of...

It was recommended by another store who was out of what I was looking for to go to Tom's Tropicals on Bel Air road for pinkies (baby mice). The store was quite smelly and very dark, I didn't realize they had...

I have been going there for as long as I can remember, at least 10 years I'm sure. I buy crickets regularly and the staff are always very nice. The animals look fine in the cages, it's a pet shop though, not a...

When you first walk into Tom's Tropicals, there's an attractive NanoCube setup of colorful coral and fish. However, as you walk through the rest of ther store, things don't look nearly as healthy. One on of the few saltwater tanks they have, there was a dead Dwarf Lionfish that lokked as though his tankmates had the opportunity to munch on him for a long period of time. I was appalled to find almost every Jack Dempsey in one freshwater tank dead or dying. However, they do have a large selection of fish food, water quality control tools, and aquarium decorations; but as you move toward the decoration you're bound to smell the mouse and rat cages nearby. Overall, Tom's doesn't have many healthy fish, but they can be credited with a good selection of aquarium supplies and tanks.

I also thought Toms Tropicals was pretty dirty when I was there. The live pet side seems ok, but not the other side where the dead animals are. They really need to clean that place up. I do not recommend...
