nightmare

We were referred to this "pediatric dentist" because my daughter is so young and my dentist wanted her first real experience with a dentist to be a good one. What a nightmare, it was an hour long torture session for my four year old. I thought this dentist was rough and threatening. I too am in the medical profession and work with children, you do not need to threathen or scare them into doing what you want. What happened to "happy gas" or oral sedation. Does it not make sense to administer something to take the edge off? You can't jam a needle in a four year olds mouth and expect them to lie still for an hour. Yes it was suggested to me to leave the room, it was also used as a threat to my daughter that if she didn't lie still then I would have to leave. Sorry but if my child is already upset and crying hysterically, I'm not going to leave her with strangers who are hurting her.
