0.0 of 5 stars. ) Do not buy anything from American. My husband and I went in and bought 2 pieces of furniture that had to be special ordered that we were to received in 8-12 weeks. We signed a contract. We qualified for a TV b/c we spend so much money, and paid an extra hundred or two for a 32 inch flatscreen. We were not contacted until 4 WEEKS later telling us that our furniture was not available in the color we wanted. We told them we didn't understand and why couldn't they get it from the manufacturer and why had they waited this long to tell us! After another week when a manager finally got back to us, they still said it was not available and gave my husband 3 options verablly (which was finally put in writing 8 months later: -They had said we could have a credit at their store for any other furniture. We did not want to buy anything from them now. -They also offerred for us to keep the TV but pay full price for us. We didn't want the TV in the first place. -The third option was to return the TV, get our money back for the furniture, but pay a ~$200 restocking fee for the TV. This was all ridiculous! We refused. We contacted our cc company and the Department of Consumer Protection. CRAZY!

I was then told that I could not buy the TV without me giving out my phone number. Absolutley Ridiculous !!!!!!! I am taking my money elsewhere and encouraging everyone I know to not shop there. Word of mouth is the best way to advertise stupidity. I'm glad that their business is so booming that they don't need my sale.
