User Reviews of Middle River Family Practice

Very Upset

I saw Dr. Karkhanis on March 6, 2008 for severe migraine problems. She referred me for a brain CT scan and gave me a prescription. I went right next door to Walgreens and dropped the prescription off and the pharmacy told me they needed a verbal verafication from the doctor. It took 10 days for me to be able to pick that prescription up. I was phoned exactly one week after my brain CT with the results. When I shared how upset I was with the secretary who called me, she didn't show any sincerity at all. The only thing she said to me was, "How many patients do you think Dr. Karkhanis sees per day?" Thank you so much for that statement, because you just lost a patient of 15 years. I was seeing Dr. Conolly back when you were located on the corner of Fuselage and Compass Roads. That statement helped me realize that you just fit as many people in per day as you possibly can to make money, but it's so much that you can't even focus on your patients' needs or problems. In my case my migraines are severe and painful, which I explained to the doctor. If she had time to focus on her patients' needs, she would have been able to give her verbal verification a lot sooner than 10 days so I could have received my prescription sooner. If you are overworked then hopefully I'll help you with one less patient.
