Minnesota Room

We were really looking forward to visiting the Minnesota Room and I called ahead to see what was on the menu and the price. Well Crab cakes with garlic sausage was the appetizer and duck or salmon was the main course. Upon arriving and ordering the above items mentioned we were informed they burnt the crab cakes and would be served a Caeser Salad instead...Well it was the smallest Caeser salad ever. When asked about the crab cakes we were informed they were not allowed to make over and the salad had to suffice. Our duck was mediocre at best and a small, small portion. I understand small is fine but at $21 per person for a Ceaser salad, a small portion of duck and a dessert at a cooking school I felt ripped off! Who are they kidding. This would have been excellent at $11.00 per person but $21? Next time when I want to pay real prices and get real food I will go to a real restaurant.

My Favorite place to eat

Every time I go to the MN Room I enjoy some new dish and the students are great. Whenever I ask for the recipe I am never disapointment.

Lunch menu consisted of three courses. First course is soup or salad with a varied of selection of gourmet choices. Second course is the main entree and there were five selections including red meat, fish, poultry and vegetarian. Third course offers five unusual desserts. The lunch menu is a fixed price including one item from each course. My friend and I selected different items so we could sample more. All the items were good with several being exceptional. We will be returning here again.
