Fresh Hair is a full service salon in the warm neighborly community of JP and surrounding areas since 1982. Services include hair cuts, color, highlights, facials, professional makeup, manicures, pedicures, waxing, sugaring, threading, Mystic Tan spray tanning, massage, henna tattoos and ear piercing. This Boston salon uses filtered water heated by solar panels, and recycles its plastic, glass, paper and cardboard. Fresh Hair also carries and uses natural products as fully as possible.Fresh Hair makes things easy. There is a lot of natural light, wooden floors, two rocking chairs, and a friendly staff. The salon is a work of art in itself, and there are always showings by local artists.Fresh Hair has been awarded "Best of Boston" (2007) and Best Personal Service and Friendliest Business (2008) by the JP Gazette. My friend and I were getting updos done for a special occasion. The day of our appointment I called in to say that we would be late a few minutes because of traffic and that we understand that the stylists my have to take other customers before us because of time. When we arrived it was as if we were lepers. Two of the women that work there were extremely rude to us, had bad attitudes and treated us like second-class customers even after we politely explained that we would wait patiently if the stylists had booked appointments. I feel that I was already having a stressful and crazy day and their attitudes were not living up to their commitment of "friendliness of communication" that their website promises. In addition to dealing with their hostility, I was unsatisfied with my hairstyle. I had to re-do it myself before I went to the function that I was attending that evening.
