Re: Major human error!

Wow... I thought it was just us. We arrived early (we had been warned about being late) and was immediately called back by Dr. Fadely. Without introduction, Dr. Fadely began reviewing my son's tests. He was describing someone that was the polar opposite of my son. I started to question him, and he immediately became defensive and asked me who was the professional. We sat back and let him rant. At the end of the hour he suggested that he use his given name and not his initials. I again attempted to tell him that the young man that he was speaking of was not my son. Now very agitated, Dr. Fadely demanded to know why I questioned him and I replied that my son's name was **** and not TJ. Wow... he then demanded to know why we came back to his office. My humble answer was, "because you asked us to...." As we were booted out of his office, we passed TJ and his parents in the waiting room. All I could do was smile at TJ's mom and compliment her on what a nice young man she raised. As for my son... his response was, "WTF just happened?" Moments later a delightful woman came out of her office and introduced herself as Dr. Debrota. She reached out and touched my son's hand and asked, "Are you really ****?" He smiled and nodded. We went back to her office and and received valuable insight, guidance and advice. Today I'm calling for an appointment for my youngest... with Dr. Debrota!

Major human error

He was interesting and pleasant to talk with, but my son, husband and me didn't agree with what he recommended for my son. Dr. Fadely even insisted that my son would agree with him after one year at college. Imagine our unpleasant surprise when we discovered on our long drive back home (by reviewing papers we received), that Dr. Fadely confused my son with another client. That was a mistake that should never have happened. He lost credibility with my family.

Don't Waste Your Time

I went to see Dr. Fadely my senior year of high school and was beyond disappointed. My mom and I arrived a couple minutes late (due to the terrible copy of directions we were sent) and he berated us like school children for several minutes about being on time and finally agreed to see us once he was done yelling. Needless to say it was humiliating for my mom and I and very unprofessional on his part. I have never been so disappointed to pay for a service than I was with his "session." He was rude the entire meeting and told me I wasn't cut out for the career path that I wanted to go in to and instead told me to be an elementary school teacher because I was "cute and had teh right personailty." Ugh. I have heard so many great things about him and I had really high hopes, but he was a nightmare. I am really glad that others had good experiences. After graduating from college, I am now in the profession I wanted to be in, with a great job, and am thriving. Good luck! And remember...be on time. :)

Great College and Career Guide!

I personally went to Dr. Fadely after struggling in Engineering school. He helped me identify other areas I would enjoy pursuing (Law, Optomitry, Leadership, Finance). I made a choice before entering my 3rd year of college and couldn't be happier with the results. I have since recommended this process to several friends, acquaintences and now even my intern. There is absolutely no gender bias btw. He also recommended that a female friend of mine move from an Elementary Education major to a Civil Engineering major/school. She also took his advice, loved the school and engineering program and is now a sucessful Civil engineer.

Very Helpful Session - no gender bias

My daughter went to Dr. Fadely her senior year of highschool and there was no gender bias what so ever. What the testing showed was very helpful for her career decisions. He let her know she should become a doctor, but focus on research. She is working hard towards the goal of Med school, taking her MCATs this year. I was looking for their number to send my son, after his first year of college he is not sure he made the right choice of majors. Now I wish I would of had him go through this process before ever going to college, but he (my son) seemed so sure of what he wanted to do.

Loved it!

Dr. Fadely really helped me. I never felt any gender bias whatsoever. The fields that I was told to go into were right on the money. They included jobs in the arts, law profession, or the education field. I was told to attend prestigious universities. They helped me narrow my search and put me on the right track.

Gender bias

I was disapointed by the obvious gender bias in the presentation made for my very bright, career oriented daughter. She was told she should be a nurse or elementary education teacher. The presentation was dismissive, and at times, downright rude/insensitive. I went in to this with high hopes for some thoughtful/thought provoking insight and guidance, but instead, he ran roughshod over all the thoughts and dreams of a young person who has the potential to do anything she wants. He told her to go to a different college, not to pursue medicine, and as a said before, thought she should focus on jobs that are clearly traditionally a "woman's job" I have looked on line and believe there is definitely a school of thought that the Strong Interest Inventory has a gender bias. I would use caution in using these services.
