Great Cheeses and Amazing Salads

The Village Cheese Shop has good cheeses and a knowledgeable staff, and they also have delicious salads. One of my favorites is the Village Chicken Salad which is made with freshly picked chicken and mandarin oranges. Also the Flo's Potato Salad ranks high on my list due to the bacon, eggs, and mustard used. The end of every visit must include a giant chocolate chip cookie as big as your fist, made (not just baked) on the premises. Of course the home made cakes are to die for too.

Love it

I had a last minute order but the owner was understanding and accommodating. You can't expect a small business owner to have the stock a big box store carries. Especially during the holidays or at the end of the day. They make their platters to order and require a little head's up in order to make sure the produce is in stock and the platter is prepared to your liking - not thrown together, pre-packaged stuff you get at the supermarket. The Cheese Shop is well worth the trip. The owners are knowledgeable about their products, can make suggestions when you aren't sure what you want and the food is home-made and fresh. You certainly don't get that many places these days. The store carries a lot of unique items beyond cheeses - gourmet items, gifts, as well as a nice breakfast and lunch menu. Their catering is frequently raved about at the parties I have gone to. I'd definately go back.

Rude Owners

I went into the village cheese shop to purchase a cheese platter. The owner was very rude. She was annoyed that I had not preordered the cheese platter. I tried to explain that it was for a last minute gathing and that I would not mind waiting. The owner was so rude that it was almost comical. She kept stomping around, slamming cabinets and complaining. For obvious reasons, I left and took my business with me.
