My wife and I where hooking up with an old friend for dinner the other night and she suggested Cafe Italia which was located between us. I've been to Grapevine a few times and never heard of this place. Much to my surprise was a converted Taco Bell where I used to grab a burrito after band rehearsels many years ago. As we pulled up I said, "You've got to be kidding?". I rolled my eyes and knowing at least I could find comfort in the two bottles of vino we brought. I was taken back upon entering that they had really transformed a taco place into a nice cozy little italian reastaurant. My wife had the salmon which was tender and moist while I had the best veal chop I've ever had! I mean it. Dean down at the Ritz coulsn't beat this taste and presentation. Our friend had a gigantic seafood plater that was topped off with a succulant lobster tail. I passed on dessert but my wife did and the canolli(sp) was not too creamy and the crust just the right crispness. All in all I'll go back if I need to meet someone half way from where we live, but with the BYOB you can spend a little more on some really great food and have an excellant meal and get the biggest bang for your buck. Enjoy
