If you like sweeter sauces, Dukes is a place you should try. We (family - regular me, largish husband and two smallish kids) thought the food was really good, the service was very good and polite, the...

For the price, I should have driven to Wag-a-bag, got one of those refrigerator sandwiches, thrown it in the microwave till the fake cheese melted, let it cool on the dash of my car while i put the...

We've only ever eaten here once. And that's really about all we plan on eating there. The food was extremely ... extremely under par for the price. The only thing that was really edible (and I don't...

This place is pretty much alright. My parents, the fiance, and I have eaten here twice and while it's not my favorite BBQ place, it definitely satisfies the craving. The best way to enjoy this place...

Dukes slogan is "Keep Georgetown Normal... Eat at Dukes". I think they should change it to: "Keep Georgetown Mediocre. Eat Mediocre BBQ at Dukes". I hate to give such a terrible rating to such a...

I will agree that it's a fun place to eat, but I'm not crazy about the food, and I AM a BBQ gourmand ; ) I will also agree that Carolina style BBQ is gross! Texas style is definitely the way to go,...

I admit to not being a gourmand when it comes to barbecue. When I lived in North Carolina everyone raved about it -- I didn't find vinegary tasting fatty pork particularly appetizing -- so perhaps I...

We used Duke's catering for a party. I can say the food was good. Dealing with Duke's was very a bad experience. They were $4 more a plate than a favorite Austin BBQ joint. So pricing was very high in comparison. I still used them because the party was located in Georgetown. They would not leave the excess food and said it was a violation of health code laws. This is not true because other caters leave food. You pay for a certain number of guests and the food for that number of guests should be yours. There is no health reason that it should not be. I think/hope the law prohibits Duke's from taking it back to the restaurant and reselling it after it has travel by auto round trip, been out on a table without a sneeze guard. They also added an optional 12% gratuity on my credit card/invoice without permission or even mentioning it to me in all the communications. I have had 12 years of experience in restaurants, catered parties for the president and faculty at South Western University and have many events catered in my home over the years. Duke's has been my biggest disappointment.
