my perspective

Although the new ownership might have had a great impact on the staff, the food is still the same regardless. People shouldn't rate the restaurants based on who the owner is, it should be based on the food and the service. As far as I'm concerned, the food is still the same and the menu hasn't changed (hopefully, it won't change). Few of the waiters are new, but they are very attentive and polite. The service might not be as great during the weekends as during the weekdays. So I suggest you try making a reservation beforehand. As for the bar, nothing seems to have changed. Rosie, Roberta, and Manny are still working and I've noticed that the owners replaced Lou with a new bartender, Renata. A lovely lady from London who has been in the restaurant business for many years. Anyway, all I want to say is, give JD's another chance. Let's bring the crowd back and enjoy each other's company at the bar just like the good old times. Don't let the new ownership bother you. We're going there for food and to drink and have a great time, not to see the new owners. So I hope to see some of you back soon whenever I visit. Thanks!

I worked there

The new ownership is terrible. the food is good and well priced for what you get but the ownership is terrible. Almost everyone was chased out, including me. And the owners weren't acting clueless, they are clueless.

terrible service

This was the worst experience I have ever had at a restuarant. The service was disgraceful. Customers were getting up and leaving. It is under new ownership and I heard the staff quit. The owner did not care and acted clueless when you would ask her questions. The menu was overpriced and food was not that great.

Thanksgiving at J Ds

They served the best Thanksgiving dinner I have ever had. I was surprised because their ribs and steaks are phenomenal.
