I never knew about this store until someone at a gun show mentioned he had bought a Russian Moisin Nagant at the Army Navy Store. I wanted to see what they had in the way of Mausers and visited their store. There was a "sporterized" Mauser that had some "fix up" potential, and I thought that for $99 it was a pretty good deal. I filled out all of the paperwork and gave the clerk my credit card. I thought the transaction was completed, and the clerk mumbled something about "you can go out the front." So I took the gun and put it in my car. Then this guy comes out and says, "Hey, you didn't pay for that rifle!" I was both puzzled and annoyed. I showed him a receipt the clerk had given me, and he said that I had to go to the main cash register to have the card run. I went back in and they ran the card and gave me another receipt. But I've got to tell you, this was not a pleasant experience. I'm a retired Army officer and I had given them my driver's license, credit card info, and had filled out all of this paperwork--and some guy follows me out the door and tells me I didn't pay for the rifle. This store needs to review its sales procedures. I have bought a lot of stuff from Georgia Range and Guns, also in Forest Park, but I won't return to the Army Navy Store because I was regarded with suspicion and distrust. There was no apology or anything for the misunderstanding. Nope--I won't be back.
