Yelp.com Review - by stephen B.

1.0 of 5 stars. We went to Cafe Central based on their nomination for a James Beard award. What a let down. The food was fashioned after 10 year old standard presentations and offerings. No attention to detail,...

Yelp.com Review - by Leslie K.

3.0 of 5 stars. I have only been there twice, both times for lunch. The food is generally quite good, but the lunch service is disorganized. I've had the same waiter both times (a guy with a slight Irish accent),...

Yelp.com Review - by Morgan H.

4.0 of 5 stars. My husband and I recently dined at Cafe Central. This was a fairly regular occurrence before the birth of my son, but not since. We had a wonderful meal. The cream of green chile soup was divine...

Where is Chef Ramsay when you need him!

After walking the square looking for the Cafe, enduring the stench and thinking I could be mugged at any moment I was pleasantly pleased upon finding the little cafe with the quaint patio and thought this might be worth my while. The atmosphere was sophisticated although a little on the dark side and the bar snacks where unique; wasabi peas and almonds. The dirty martini I ordered was salty and strong although at 10 dollars a pop a little overpriced. I ordered the Duck Quesadillas and the Mussels for an appetizer and was very disappointed in both. The Quesadilla tasted like oil and were very doughy leaving a sticky gooey feeling in my mouth. The Mussels were dry, rubbery, salty and fishy. The "Pommes Frits" that accompanied the mussels looked and tasted like McDonalds french fries. My party did not finish either of the appetizers and we decided not to take a chance and venture into dinner. Call me a snob but I was expecting far more from what has been hailed as "one of the finest culinary experiences in the region". This restaurant would not even rate in a first class city like Dallas, Washington or Atlanta.

Yelp.com Review - by Rob C.

3.0 of 5 stars. Expensive. Well, the fanciest restaurant for the area (menu good, ambiance ok).

Yelp.com Review - by Kelly R.

4.0 of 5 stars. Given some of the other choices in town, this place had fresh green salads and veggies, the staff didn't mind when we added a few more to our party on a weekend night, and the selections were perfect...

Yelp.com Review - by Carlos C.

2.0 of 5 stars. This is going to sound harsh, yet here it goes. Overpriced, poor service and overrated. My wife and a couple made reservations for their "New Years Eve Dinner" and it was a huge disappointment.. It...

Worth the splurge, Cafe Central is an anomaly in a town dominated by Tex-Mex: a sleek urban bistro serving sophisticated international cuisine. There are three seating areas -- a gracious dining room, a sleek...
