Why is my hair 4 different lengths?

I asked for a simple 1 inch trim around my hair. Not only did I realize some parts of my hair were an inch shorter than others (and others an inch shorter than those) in all different places, she put "chips" in my bangs after I clearly asked her not to. There is no style to my cut, it looks as though she just forgot a lot of sections. It looks awful and I'm going somewhere else to get it re-done.. this isn't the first time they've butchered my hair for 40 bucks either.
