If you are fortunate enough to have found this hidden gem, you should take advantage of the opportunity. There are no ridiculous entrance exams here. The Carlisles' philosophy is that every child can learn and be taught to love learning for a lifetime %u2013 and all of their students do. Mrs. Carlisle reaches each child in an individualized way, nurtures them, and encourages them to flourish. My son has attended the school for three years and what he is capable of is astounding. He has been reading fluently since age four. Now in kindergarten, he helps his 4th grade brother study for his spelling tests. He craves math problems and delights in practicing his skills. He plays chess, speaks Spanish, recites poetry, knows the state capitals, national anthems of other countries, and knows more about classical music and artists than his parents. Above all, he is a happy, playful and well-adjusted little boy. My older son loves to come to the school on his days off from St. Mark%u2019s to be with Mrs. Carlisle. What she does with the children is pure magic. The children learn to respect themselves and one another. This is a truly unique place and the Carlisles are a gift to the children and their parents.
