Nasty owner

the nasty owner would not accept a gift certificate i had from friends. i had left a job and my friends pitched in for an $80 gift certificate for me as a parting gift. It had expired as i had some health issues and had a troubled pregnancy, then chemotherapy. i explained to him that i had wanted to come, but had not felt up to it. he said sorry, the books were closed for that year and he would no honor it. i thought he could have handled it more professionally.
