My wife had an estimate of $2450 to install a bathtub and were told it was an all day job. We completely prepared the area and removed the old tub. Never using a plumber she had no idea of the cost. The actual work took 3 1/2 hrs for two workers. one half hour was used to go get a short length of 1/2" plastic which they (plumbers)neglected to bring. By the hour this trip coast us $340. The costper hour was $687. No compensation was made for a "all day job" taking 3 1/2 hrs. Additionally they neglected to install a part and had to cut a stryofoam support and "glue" it in place. They also used materials belonging to us to complete the job. When I tried to question the final figure it took a week to actually talk to someone. Lesson learned: Find out what reputable companies charge.
