0.0 of 5 stars. ) So, we had a scary oil change last week , right before a trip. They told us we needed to replace the timing belt in our vehicle IMMEDIATELY or it would be a goner. Then, they told everyone else that too.... so we took it with a grain of salt. Enough of a grain to get a rental car for our trip (horrid traffic!), but we decided to take our time on the timing belt (ie, wait until we were not trying to throw a milestone birthday party 4 states away!!!)today i called pep boys because i didn't know what else to do. I talked to a very friendly worker who gave me price quotes over the phone. He even told me that it would be different for different types of engines, and when i didn't know which ours was, he looked up both. He said he could get me in TOMORROW and even offered to look at my engine for me today, since I wasn't sure which I had. After talking to my hubby, I knew we had the 1.5 (thank goodness- cheaper!) so I called back and made an appointment. The man in the service dept. told me that he could get me in at 8, and gave me an estimate on the time (3 hours). I'm always nervous about my car, so this service from the local Pep Boys put my mind at ease. I even have a coupon from PepBoys.com to use (50 dollars off 200 dollar repair/service). Great job Pep boys!
