I've gone to Vaccaros for years; the food is great, but recently the service has been repeatedly bad at both the Little Italy location in Baltimore and at the Union station location in DC. I was at the Little Italy location this weekend, and saw several groups of people waiting in line to order take-out; even though there were more than six workers behind the counter, only one worker was waiting on customers. When I finally got to order, the worker started to take my order, then stopped to talk with her co-(non)-workers behind counter for about five minutes, then went off to do something else completely unrelated totally blowing-off all the customers. The line of customers were looking around at each other in disbelief that there was such a lack of concern for customer service. When the worker didn't return after another five minutes, I walked out. The customer service here is horrible. They have way too many people standing around doing nothing but chatting to each other. These are mostly young teenagers with no adult supervision. Vaccaros could operate more efficiently and provide much better customers service if they got rid of this mass of careless and disrespectful teenagers and replaced them with a couple of responsible adults. Sadly, the quality of the food and the quality of the service are at opposite extremes.
