I left Ev'leen's 3 years ago after 4 years of classes because I wanted to take Karate. After a year I missed ballet and chose Bakersfield Ballet Theatre because it offers only Classical Ballet. Although it was a comfortable atmosphere at Ev'leens, I must say that she was strict, especially about missing classes. However she is very good with younger children, ages 5-9, and loves them dearly. The studio is not ALL classical. She offers some Classical Ballet classes, but a lot of her dance classes are Modern, Hip-Hop, Jazz, and Tap[for variety]. Ev'leen's one hour classes are held only once or twice per week. which works well for many families. P.S. Ev'leens does a Recital once a year and all but the last two rehearsals take place during class time. I and my friends liked the recitals. We were more comfortable going on stage after being able to play games and converse with other young girls in our room. There was always a TV in the room so we could see who was dancing before our group and knew when to go on stage. It was very helpful.
