Vet Hero

Dr. Van Trease, my cat vet for 12 years, is unfailingly committed, thorough, skillful, knowledgeable, trustworthy. After Pia spent a night in a hospital without a diagnosis, Dr. Van Trease noticed her broken, bloody claws & surmised she'd been struck by a car, her other symptoms due to organ swelling (true). He showed us how to read Pia's MRI. Two nights, he stayed almost an hour after his office closed, until the night hospital opened (where Pia was to be watched overnight). Once I was late, & he'd waited an hour after closing, to keep our appointment. He ordered medication from AZ so it would be less expensive. He always answers all my questions, no matter how long it takes, and he's great about taking & returning calls after hours. He's driven to keep learning, updating technologies, knowledge, and practices. He approaches each challenging case like a devoted detective would, trying to fit the pieces together. He 's a vet hero.
