A lifelong favorite

Growing up in the area and having 3 grandparents right in Augusta, the Red Barn was a regular stop on a nearly weekly basis. It was the favorite of both sets of grandparents (well...I only had one and a half sets - but you see my point) and the staff actually attended the funerals of each my maternal grandparents (The Chases). That's how often they ate there - for YEARS. I now live in Florida but my sister lives just up the road in Vassalboro, and we always make it a point to stop in for a bite when I visit. Sorry for the nostalgia...as far as an actual review - it's great! I always get the fried scallops. Delicious. My mother swears by the seafood chowder, which is really inexpensive and jam packed with big bites of a variety of...seafood of course. This is counter service - nothing fancy - but that's part of the charm.

BEST FOOD IN TOWN!!!!!!!

Whenever I leave for school or vacation, I find myself craving RED BARN. Nothing beats the succulent lobster, the tender chicken, or those AMAZING FRIES! I do not know ANYONE in existence who does not enjoy...
