Slower than the Marathon

I've become a regular at the Augusta Marriott and I was very disappointed in the level of service I received on Saturday, August 16,2008. I arrived at the restaurant about 8:15p.m.and found a spot where I could watch the Olympics. There were three groups that came in after I was seated and placed my order: a family of five (5), a group of four (4), and a group of nine (9). My server told me that it would be a while because they had a few large groups/parties in the restaurant. I was fine with that because I was watching the Olympics. However, I didn't realize that a while would be 45 minutes to an hour later. At 9:00 p.m. my server finally came back by the table and I had to ask for the salad, which he didn't remember me ordering. He brought that back and then disappeared again. At 9:15p.m. I got up to get help from one of the other servers on duty. I was prepared to pay for my drink and salad and leave. She was very nice and accomodating. It was even nice of them to comp the meal, but I've never been to a restaurant where the manager on duty has never talked to a disgruntled customer. This I thought made the experience even worse. Nevertheless, I won't patronize Beamies at the River again.
