My mom used to always take me to Hair Cuttery, but for my birthday she treated me to a very classy place, Lorraine Aprile Salon! They were so nice to me, I had my hair highlighted and cut and I look fabulous!...

I have been going to the Lorraine Aprile Salon now for over year and a half. Prior to that, I had been a devotee of the local Hair Cuttery. Lorraine and her staff of professionals talked me into going from a...

Lorraine Aprile salon is so different from other salons I have experienced, they are usually so loud, and way too many people running around for it to feel relaxing. At Lorraine Aprile salon, the staff take...

We all know the relationship with our hairstylist comes second only to family. When I had to leave my hairstylist of 6 years upon moving from New Orleans, I was nervous about finding a replacement. Lorraine...

I totally enjoyed my time at the salon. I had been traveling to PA for haircuts, but decided this is the place for me. Lorraine cut and styled my hair beautifully. I am very happy!

Old Town has about 40 hair salons, and I've tried just about all of the most popular ones -- all of which did a very mediocre job on my fine, thin hair, and most of which stuck me with their junior or trainee...

I found the scissors weren't just snippy but also the salon owner a bit too impatient and not helpful. Too much money to have to pay for not being helpful when we pay for a professional and creativity to look our best. The cut and color were not extraordinary but average. Personality really counts because we are paying to have someone we can easily communicate with to make our hair an asset.

I found this experience not only unsatisfactory - It was borderline torture. From the stylist (the owner and namesake) who gossiped about all of her clients to the rude shampoo girl who was ripping out my...

The effect is good. My hair looks fine and the color is just as I wanted. But the whole experience - questionable. The salon is nice and cozy, the stuff is friendly. However, there were two issues I did not like: 1. The "hairy" hair brushes I was offered to use (see 2.). There were two, both with lots and lots of long blond hair... I couldn't even look at them! 2. After getting my touch-ups done I had to blow dry my heir myself! I was offered to use their hairdryer and the very "hairy" brushes. But had to do it by myself. The blow drying was available ONLY with styling for an additional fee. I did not need my hair styled as I was going for a run a few hours later and did not want to pay additional $30 (Blow Dry with Color Service - $30). It felt quite strange: I come, the nice lady puts the dye on my hair, which takes about 20 min. I sit for another 30 min. A nice "helper" girl washes my hair twice (yet doesn't remove "Vaseline" - protection from staining my skin - from all over my face), and says "ok". Then I take a hairdryer and blow dry my own hair (again, with a very hairy and disgusting brush). I am not going back...
