Same horrible experience

We had the same experience, thank goodness for their office manager who at least showed some compassion. We DID get to talk to Dr. Birnbaum and let me tell you, she needs to do some real work to repair her practice. I would no longer even consider going to her for 'healing' of any kind. Look elsewhere, there are many compassionate mature Doctors out there.

I totally agree with the reviewer

We were dumped this week as well and I mean DUMPED. I have never had an experience like this. Once we spoke to the doctor (Birnbaum) we were then treated as if we had done something to her. And we talked with Alta Bates Medical Group, East Bay Sutter (her new group) Blue Cross AND the State of California's HMO support line -and were told by all of them that her office and the doctors knew this was coming AND that it is clearly abandonment..but more than that..why not at least be a little sympathetic to us. No warning, dropped from our medical group.

We just recieved a letter from Blue Cross saying we could no longer see Dr. Birnbaum or anyone in her practice, as they changed from Alta Bates Medical Group. I have called her office 3 times and have been given wrong information twice, can't get a call back from any of the providers and was just told 'sorry we didn't send you the letter, we switched plans tho', sorry don't know what else to tell you'. We have three visits and referrals to other providers still booked and are now lost as to what to do. VERY unprofessional and very scarey.
